Performance

Josh started playing the Clarinet at the age of 9 and later took up the saxophone at 14. He played in various ensembles including orchestras, wind bands and jazz ensembles as he grew up and was awarded a major bursary by the West Wight Arts Association in 2015. Later that year he performed at the Royal Albert Hall with his Sixth Form Jazz Combo. In 2018, he premiered a short piece by one of his university lecturers Daniel Bickerton. Josh has achieved two diplomas in the clarinet (LRSM and DipABRSM). In 2022 Josh performed Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto accompanied by full Orchestra. His performance was described as ‘completely outstanding, liquid playing, and such a mature interpretation of the piece’.

Currently Josh performs music of all genres, he regularly performs recitals, plays with function bands including Rock the Mike, jazz bands and orchestras. Josh is available to book as a solo or session musician and can provide ensemble and band options including his Jazz Quartet and function band, Rock the Mike.
